About

Health Canada awarded a contract to IWK Regional Poison Centre for scientific consulting services supporting the Canadian Surveillance System for Poison Information (CSSPI) and Toxicovigilance Canada from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2025, with an amendment extending the term to September 30, 2025.

Valued at $1,011,930, the contract covers four main areas: supporting CSSPI system development and poison centre data comparability; specialist in poison information training development and delivery; supporting the toxicovigilance and surveillance team with signal detection; and supporting the regional epidemiologist and CSSPI special project related to data on poisonings.

The extension ensures continuation of services from the Atlantic Canada Poison Centre (IWK/ACPC) in support of CSSPI until a new contract is developed with PSPC.
