Government of Alberta is seeking a supplier to produce Alberta Vegetation Inventory (AVI) photo-plot interpretations for 226 National Forest Inventory (NFI) photo plots, each sized 2000 m × 2000 m. The work requires aerial imagery-based photo interpretation in a 3D digital “softcopy” environment to spatially identify forest type, extent and condition in accordance with the AVI’s role in forest management planning, wildfire management, wildlife habitat classification, ecological classification and integrated resource management. Services must adhere to the Alberta Vegetation Inventory Standards Version 2.1.5 (available via the Open Government program). Proponents must submit an AVI Plan (see Attachment 4 – Service Delivery Approach) that clearly outlines timelines for completing the inventory, and the Province will provide aerial imagery to the successful contractor in accordance with the specifications in the AVI Standards Version 2.1.5.
