About

The Department of National Defence is seeking an independent third party to conduct a comprehensive review of the Office of the DND/Canadian Armed Forces Ombudsman. The review will examine the Office’s governance structure and authorities and benchmark DND/CAF practices against ombudsman functions across the Government of Canada, other levels of government, and comparable democracies, including similar functions in allied militaries. The work will support taking forward Justice Fish’s Recommendation #103 by assessing whether additional measures are needed to reinforce the Ombudsman’s independence and effectiveness.
