Tender: Measurement of Chloride, Fluoride and Trace/Toxic Metals in Human Milk Samples – MIREC Study

MIREC study is seeking a supplier for measurement of chloride, fluoride, iron, chromium, arsenic, lead and cadmium concentrations in human milk samples collected from the MIREC cohort. The work requires optimized analyses using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP‑MS) with experience on an Agilent 8800 triple quadrupole MS or equivalent, delivery of electronic results, and return of remaining biospecimens to the MIREC Biobank. Suppliers must submit a Statement of Capabilities demonstrating at least five years’ experience measuring and interpreting toxic and trace elements in human biological samples (including human milk), the ability to provide technical support, and that the work will be completed at the contractor’s facility using the contractor’s equipment, software and consumables. The resulting data will contribute to updated Canadian and international information on human milk composition from a large, geographically diverse cohort (10 sites in six provinces) to support guidance on human milk feeding and formula composition.
