Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is seeking a Mediator Consultant for the Farm Debt Mediation Service (FDMS) in Saskatchewan on an as-and-when requested basis to deliver financial counselling and mediation services under Task Authorization Contracts that could result in the award of 5 contracts for 5 years. The FDMS provides free, voluntary, private and confidential financial counselling and mediation to farmers who are struggling to meet financial obligations by bringing farmers and their creditors together with a neutral Mediator and an assigned Financial Consultant. The Mediator will facilitate communication, remain neutral, work collaboratively with the Financial Consultant to understand the file and recovery plan, lead the mediation meeting, and prepare and obtain signatures on any written agreement reached; confidentiality of information is emphasized and information is shared only among the parties involved in the mediation process.
