Structural contractor needed to carry out structural rehabilitation of the Millennium Library parkade at 251 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The work includes structural rehabilitation with associated architectural, mechanical and electrical work while the parkade remains open and is rehabilitated in seven phased turn-overs of P1 and P2 levels; phases may require two-way traffic control on ramps designed for one-way operation. Major scope items include design and installation of P1 shoring by a professional engineer licensed in Manitoba; removal of the top 4 inches of the P1 slab by hydro demolition and replacement with cast-in-place concrete; localized concrete removal and repairs; replacement of curbs, islands and features; installation of reinforcing corrosion protection; installation of P1 waterproofing; removal and replacement of floor drains; relocation of electrical and mechanical systems and replacement of P2 pipe insulation; and removal, salvage and reinstallation of parking equipment. The Contractor is responsible for general coordination, supervision and administration, meeting qualification requirements for self-performing contractors and subcontractors (including concrete restoration superintendents who shall have completed the ICRI Concrete Surface Repair Technician (CRST) education course, with CRST Grade 1 recommended), acting as Prime Contractor for workplace safety, asbestos abatement coordination in accordance with tender specifications with City air monitoring, and development and implementation of a Site Protection Plan covering fire protection, dust control, water/slurry/debris management, emergency egress, temporary ventilation, traffic control and contractor site access.
