About

Rocky View County is seeking a supplier for Safety Codes inspection services as part of its Development Approvals Transformation Program to streamline and improve development approvals, reduce timelines, improve applicant navigation and integrate processes to support customer engagement. The County currently uses internal Building Safety Code Officers for building permit approvals and inspections and an external contracted agency for electrical, plumbing and gas subtrade inspections; the external Safety Code Officers are not exclusive to the County and provide coverage only in certain areas on specified days. The preferred outcome is a single provider with exclusive Safety Code Officers and administrative support assigned to Rocky View County to strengthen oversight, coordination, accountability, inspection capacity and customer experience, while the County will consider alternative delivery or multiple providers where proponents demonstrate equal or improved service continuity, responsiveness, inspection coverage, customer service and required service levels.
