Tender: Village Annual Municipal Financial Statement and LAPP Audit Services — 3‑Year Term (FY ending Dec 31, 2026)

The Village is seeking a qualified accounting firm to audit and prepare audited Financial Statements and perform a Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) audit in accordance with the CICA handbook, Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) requirements and Alberta's Municipal Government Act (MGA). The auditor's responsibilities include investment reconciliation, drafting the Financial Statement including an estimated 20 adjusting/corrective journal entries, providing financial statement advice, presenting the draft Financial Statement to Council and Administration, disclosure discussions, and offering comments and observations on the Village's accounting, reporting and financial affairs. The firm must be able to advise on ongoing changes to PSAB, MGA, new property tax legislation and performance measure issues. Audits must be completed annually by March 31 so the approved Financial Statement can be made public by May 1 (MGA s.276(3)) and provided to the Province (MGA s.278). The period of service covers three years beginning with the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026, and the Village may review and reappoint the firm annually if satisfied.
