RRC Polytech is seeking an engineering consulting firm to conduct a Campus District Energy Decarbonization Feasibility Study to evaluate the technical, economic, environmental and operational feasibility of multiple low-carbon thermal energy pathways for the Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The study will assess the full existing building portfolio—including academic, laboratory, trades and administrative facilities—incorporate planned new buildings and future development so scenarios are sized and phased for campus growth, and identify the most viable pathway through technology screening and a shortlisted-pathways assessment compared to a Business-As-Usual baseline. The consultant must provide energy modelling, conceptual designs, lifecycle financial analysis, risk assessment and a comprehensive Final Feasibility Report with an evidence-based recommended pathway and investment-decision framework to support RRC Polytech’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions 50–75% by 2035 and pursuing a long-term net zero target; the selected consultant will work closely with RRC Polytech’s Facilities Management and Sustainability and Climate Strategy teams and with Efficiency Manitoba.
