AGI is seeking a consultant to perform a visual condition assessment and hydraulic evaluation of the Vermilion River reach from the Ben’s Lake Diversion Structure to downstream of the Lake Six outlet. The study will assess both constructed and naturally occurring channel sections, identify channel constrictions and hydraulic constraints caused by dense aquatic and emergent vegetation (notably cattails) and sediment accumulation, evaluate the impacts of these constrictions on channel conveyance capacity and potential effects on upstream water levels and flood risk, and provide recommendations on priority cleanout locations and other remedial measures to restore and optimize flow conveyance.
