About

The Alberta Wildfire Prevention and Investigation Section is seeking a process engineering subject matter expert to support an investigation into a significant flare-stack-caused wildfire. The SME must have experience with upstream and midstream oil and gas operations and specific knowledge in designing, operating, maintaining, monitoring, and inspecting flare stacks and associated infrastructure, plus a strong understanding of legislation, regulations, and standards for flaring operations in Alberta. Responsibilities may include analyzing extensive flaring data and documentation, examining field sites, producing an expert report, and qualifying or testifying as an expert witness in court; work will be assigned on an as-needed basis, the vendor must be able to process and analyze a significant number of records and deliver reports in a timely manner, selection is competitive with a standard no-guarantee contract, one contract will be awarded, and selected proponents will be checked for conflicts of interest prior to an offer.
