Tender: Renewal of Hardware and Software Support for Nuvis Wildfire Camera System – Petawawa Research Forest (NRCan)

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking a supplier for renewal of hardware and software support for the existing Nuvis Technologies optical wildfire camera detection system at the Petawawa Research Forest in Chalk River, Ontario. The Petawawa Research Forest is a 10,000-hectare research forest on land owned by the Department of National Defence (Garrison Petawawa) and, under a memorandum of understanding, is staffed and operated by NRCan, which is responsible for wildfire detection for approximately 30,000 hectares. Fire detection on the property was previously conducted using two fire towers with cupolas (27.5 m and 38.5 m), with the 38.5 m tower decommissioned in 2018; there is also an existing Radio Tower with electrical power and a radio repeater that can host a fire detection camera. In 2022 NRCan installed two optical camera sensor systems with fire detection monitoring software by Nuvis Technologies Inc. The requirement covers renewal of support for the Wildfire Guardian software, including support and maintenance of the existing software environment, diagnostics and troubleshooting, administrator support, and software upgrades as available, together with hardware support for all equipment including annual preventative maintenance, seasonal startup and shutdown, and corrective maintenance labour.
