The District of Katepwa is seeking qualified contractors to provide fixed-price design-build services for the South Katepwa Pedestrian Bridge adjacent to Highway 56 in South Katepwa, Saskatchewan, including final engineering, fabrication, supply and construction to provide a safe crossing for pedestrians and trail users. The scope covers final engineering and design, foundations and piling, bridge superstructure, decking, railings, site preparation, winter construction, traffic management, gravel trail approaches, inspections and site restoration. Proponents must submit a compliant base proposal using the September 29, 2026 Samson Engineering preliminary drawings (Project SEI2026-004); alternative designs or construction approaches may be submitted separately for consideration. Construction is anticipated in winter 2026–2027 with substantial completion required by March 1, 2027 and final seasonal restoration by July 31, 2027. Proposals close November 15, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Saskatchewan time and must be submitted electronically by email with the subject line "South Katepwa Pedestrian Bridge RFP"; submissions through SaskTenders will not be accepted. The RFP package includes the Samson Engineering preliminary drawings and available Ministry of Highways reference information; site visits may be arranged by contacting the District and all inquiries must be submitted in writing to the contact listed in the RFP. The District may issue clarifications or addenda and proponents are responsible for reviewing any updates posted to SaskTenders, and the anticipated contract award date is November 17, 2026 subject to Council approval.
